Discernment and Your Health 2

Hi,

Wlecome to part 2 of discernment and your health.  For part 1 go to discernment.

To sum up – it is up to you to make discernment work for your life and your health.

We looked at the acai berry scam to show how to be discerning.

Sometimes you have to do some research to see if the advertising statements have any truth to them at all.

Now the marketing ads look very good and seem very official.  They might say that the information has been published.

You might think published in a scientific journal, however it could mean that it was published on the internet.  Quite a difference.

The ad might say the product is doctor approved.  But, what kind of doctor.  You could have a doctorate degree in English Lit and call yourself a doctor.  Not as impressive as a medical doctor.

What about all the testimonials?  I hate to let you in on this, but most testimonials you see are not real.

If you look at enough of them, you will see the same pictures, different names all promoting different products.

And, really – go to any gym in the world and you will not see as many beautiful people as you see in just one of those television commercial exercise classes.  These – for the most part – are paid actors and actresses or models.

Now so far we have talked about discernment with particular products and marketing promotions.

But, discernment is about your life.  Every single decision you make affects your life.

You get to make a decision about what to eat several times a day.  You can decide to eat a cream cheese bagel and have a coffee with loads of sugar and cream in it.

Or you could decide to eat a ham and veggie omlet with 1/2 a grapefruit.

Look, you already know that there are healthy foods and junk foods or what I call ghost foods (they have no nutrients in them).

You know what is better for your health.  What are you going to decide to eat?

Are you going to make the decision to eat healthier to have a healthier life?

If you do decide to make that decision, then you have to make the decision every time you eat.

You can’t decide to only eat healthy 1 meal a day or 1 day a week.  Your body doesn’t work that way.

Your body adapts to what you do to it.  Even if what you do is not good for it.

Now you will eventually pay for it.  You might develop cancer, have a heart attack or a stroke, develop diabetes and so on.  All because of your decisions on what to eat.

The problem is that it takes a while for all your bad decisions to catch up with you.  If every time you smoked a cigarette you coughed uncontrollaby for several hours, then you could figure out that smoking wasn’t good for you.

But, your body adapts.  Over time though you will probably develop cancer or have heart problems.

The same is true of what you eat.  The same is true of whether you exercise or not.

So not only do you have to decide what to do, you have to discern what is in your best interests to do based upon your decisions.

This is not an easy task.  And it is ongoing for life.

But, there is help.  You can keep reading this blog to help you make these decisions.  There are also a few other good people that produce good products in the health, fitness and nutrition world.

I will introduce these people to you as time goes by.

In the meantime your health depends upon your discerning decisions.

Thanks,

Mike Val
